JOB PURPOSE

Provide support to the Foreign Exchange and Commodities businesses, tracking business performance, preparing strategic reviews and helping to develop and implement the business strategy. Ensure effective communication across the team including the preparation of presentations and townhalls. Work with peers in other Financial Markets products to ensure sharing of best practice

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy
1. Work with the Business Heads to develop and implement the strategy for the businesses, ensuring initiatives are challenged for alignment to the overall strategy of the businesses and the wider Bank strategy
2. Remain up-to-date on key changes in the markets, providing regular updates on the external competitor landscape and potential threats and opportunities to our business model
3. Prepare strategic business reviews providing external perspectives and presentations

Business
1. Track key business performance metrics including the consolidation of forecasts and explanations for any variance to budget.
2. Track hiring and personnel changes
3. Work with Front Office to identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency
4. Provide on-the-ground support to the businesses, working with stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely fashion to minimize business disruption
5. Facilitate effective communication across the management team and more widely across the business

Risk Management and Governance
1. Work with stakeholders to identify and manage initiatives designed to increase business operating efficiency and improve first line operational risk management
2. Reinforce an effective and exemplary risk and control culture and further strengthen the control environment
3. Work with stakeholders to identify proactive measures to identify and manage forward looking risks
4. Champion and act as a role model of the Group's values and culture

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Strong communication skills - both oral and written (including presentations)
* Strong interpersonal skills to network, influence and provide challenge
* Good knowledge of Financial Markets and a broad understanding of Commodities and Foreign Exchange
* Strong desire to learn and ability to work under pressure
* Able to work both strategically as well as tactically
* Highly numerate and analytical, with attention to detail required
* Project management skills to undertake and drive/ monitor specific projects.
