Institutional Securities Group (ISG) Product Operations
Institutional Securities Group Product Operations (ISGPO) is a world-class global team of dedicated professionals, performing myriad functions, all with a common purpose: to manage Morgan Stanley's Clearing and Trading & Client operational processes and deliver value to our clients in a controlled and efficient way. ISGPO encompasses two functionally aligned organizations. The first, Trading & Client Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support of activity executed by Institutional Sales &Trading. The second, Clearing Operations, provides Operations functions in direct support for activity cleared by Morgan Stanley on behalf of our clients in Prime Brokerage, Listed Derivatives, and OTC Derivatives. The broad organization partners closely with Sales and Trading to develop and implement new products and services as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. At all times we are focused on delivering quality service to clients both internal and external. ISGPO partners closely with Shared Services and Banking Operations as well as Branch Operations and Operations Risk & Control to deliver a connected 'front to back' view of operations to ISG Sales and Trading.
Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.
The Cross Asset Projects group (CAP) is a functionally-aligned project management and business analysis team responsible for driving and delivering change for ISG Product Operations. The team is responsible for providing process re-engineering leadership to drive improved quality and enhanced efficiency. The team partners with Operations line leadership and Technology to shape product, service and functional strategies and deliver related application solutions. The team also supports key business enablement initiatives as well as client and industry driven product development.
CAP consists of five global cross-asset teams covering Collateral, Confirms, Reconciliation, Regulatory and Workflow functions.
This role is for a Project Manager within the CTB function of the Trade and Transaction Reporting Operations team working from the London office.
The role will provide leadership to the London CTB team, building close relationships with key stakeholders and assuring the delivery of projects within the EMEA program. It will be expected to have the ability to influence at MD level and in industry forums.
This is a challenging and rewarding role offering the candidate the opportunity to lead a diverse team and work on a varied portfolio of change within a critical and high profile area of the Firm. The candidate will need to be able to understand and articulate the differences between various financial products and related operational processes and technologies within the Firm.
The successful candidate will need to be able to:-
1. 1. Provide Program/Project management and Business Process redesign leadership including:
Project definition, tracking and assurance
Work with IT and Operations to prioritize requirements
Manage relationships with key Stakeholders at ED/MD level
Lead Continuous Improvement
2. Demonstrate Project Management skills through the following:
Work with multiple IT leads to ensure delivery throughout the lifecycle of the project
Track and communicate program status to wider team and management
Collaborate with the Project team on change management plans taking users through the change cycle and delivering improved systems and processes
Develop an effective network of stakeholders to facilitate easy integration of changes quickly with new areas of the Firm
Ability to challenge and influence effectively at all levels of the organization
Ability to manage a global team of skilled change personnel
Understanding of the trade lifecycle and the various downstream user requirements of reference, trade and financial data
Demonstrable experience of program/project management and change management principles
Demonstrable experience of Business process improvement
Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for tasks
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment
Detail oriented and ability to adhere to strict timelines
Proficient in MS-Excel and MS-Visio
Experience in the finance industry in a change environment
Experience of interacting with a team locally and globally
Knowledge of Program Management processes and directives
Working Knowledge of process improvement methodology, Lean, 6 Sigma, CMMI or equivalent
Knowledge of basic terminologies used in the financial services sector
Knowledge of MS suite of products including MS Project and Visio.
