Our client is a leading media group. They are one of the big names in the entertainment world, and they are now looking to add a Corporate Development Analyst to their team. Purpose:   This is a very compelling role for the right individual.   This role will be at the heart of the company’s future and is part of a team that has a high impact across the entire ambit of the company’s present and future business operations globally.   The successful candidate will support the Global Head of Corporate Development and M&A to work alongside the senior management team across all businesses, assessing and undertaking agreed M&A opportunities, and be focused on activity in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, strategic alliances and/or joint ventures.   Responsibilities:   Working alongside global colleagues and external professional advisers, the successful candidate will report into the Global Head of Corporate Development and M&A and assist on all activity in the M&A space, having the following deliverables:   • Assist in all (and take ownership of certain) aspects of an M&A process from start to finish, including identifying target opportunities, negotiating terms, performing due diligence, and reviewing transaction documentation; • Help deliver the overall agreed M&A strategy in terms of priorities, targets and opportunities; • Evaluate new business opportunities, in both the traditional and digital contents areas, including but not limited to: mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures; • Review investment performance against business plan and strategic objectives; • Research, analyse and prepare presentations and alternatives on M&A and general strategy objectives as requested including analysis with regional colleagues as to new market assessment and related entry strategy; • Company research and investment analysis, valuation and financial modeling; • Preparing detailed internal investment proposals, board presentations and M&A update papers; • Competitor / M&A monitoring and analysis as well as updating of transaction comparable database; Ideal Candidate Profile:   First and foremost, we are looking for an exceptional individual with very strong academic credentials. More specifically, we seek many, if not all of the following qualities:   • Relevant experience, preferably in an investment banking or similar corporate development / private equity/ M&A role in the media sector; • Proven interest and professional background in media and entertainment sectors; • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and word with well-established financial modeling and valuation skills; • Well accustomed to working within a competitive demanding and fast-moving environment; • Demonstrable M&A experience with proven track record of deal exposure; • A personable, charismatic and professional individual with the demeanor that is a good fit with the company’s culture; someone who is a team player; • Ability to build and develop internal and external relationships (able to exhibit diplomacy and discretion); • Superior attention to detail; • Flexibility as to intermittent business travel; • University degree or equivalent required.
