Data Manager, Fixed Income

As the Data Management SME for the London office, you will understand a broad spectrum of different types of data (security & issue reference data, pricing, valuations and other sources of market data.) across different types of fixed income and derivative instruments.

This highly reputable global asset manager has a newly created, standalone opportunity for an accomplished Data Manager to lead BAU Data Management and deliver data innovation for the London office.

As the Data Management SME for the London office, you will understand a broad spectrum of different types of data (security & issue reference data, pricing, valuations and other sources of market data.) across different types of fixed income and derivative instruments.

This is a fantastic Data role responsible for leading and delivering high profiled global projects for the London office and will include detailed data analysis.

Assuming the responsibility for data management for the London office, you will report directly into both the US & London offices. The successful candidate will be highly knowledgeable of the importance of different data types, will take ownership for addressing routine data errors and omissions by identifying controls. You will also act as a source of expertise for escalation of issues as a Reference Data and Valuations Specialist and will support global offices making this role high profiled and extremely appealing.

As this is a new role there are both BAU and strategic aspects and therefore it is advantageous if the successful candidate is experienced in devising workflow and procedures for the creation, maintenance and quality control of market data and valuations across a variety of security types and reference data types in conjunction with the development of IT solutions to include the testing and validation.

In this role you will utilise your strong interpersonal and communication skills working closely with internal teams such as Compliance, Operations, Risk and Investment Staff. Working closely with these teams you will conduct research and will respond to questions relating to specific data, data sources and procedures. You will also have close interaction with external data providers/vendors and will be experienced in challenging and resolving prices and other reference data types.

This is a highly analytical data management role responsible for ensuring the accuracy of reference data and pricing of new securities associated with new trades, corporate actions, new benchmark constituents and in-kind transfers to name just a few. In addition, you will provide periodic data source/vendor quality reviews, evaluate and will document new potential sources for reference data and prices. You will also generate reporting for monitoring the quality of reference data and prices to be used by management, the Pricing Committee and the Operations Committee as well as recommend enhancements to reporting.

Degree educated candidates will come from a similar role from an asset management firm demonstrating strong Bloomberg expertise particularly for research of reference data and pricing as well as having a high level of proficiency with Excel, Assess and SQL. In addition, candidates will currently be progressing with CFA or a similar professional qualification.
