* Support the Regional Head of Global Banking to achieve their objectives
* Help to drive the short, medium and long term strategic direction of the Americas team. Identify key risks and obstacles and help develop a plan to overcome them
* Work with Country Business Heads to help them deliver their objectives and to effectively structure their businesses
* Help to align the Americas business to the Global strategy and work to drive Global strategy through interaction with Global management
* Act as trusted bridge between senior and junior members of staff, helping to give advice and consultation
* Drive Alignment and Accountability throughout the organisation
* Act as first point of contact and represent CIB Americas to the rest of the organisation and functions within SCB
* Manage key strategic initiatives on behalf of the Regional Head

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Business Management
* Plan and execute effective management of Americas business performance
* Keep and maintain adequate records of all business performance management data
* Manage the Americas RWA position and other performance management targets including revenue and costs. Proactively prepare performance management reviews
* Assist with planning key people management processes
* Work closely with HR and Country Business Heads during P3 process
* Demonstrate understanding of the mechanics of the organisation, so as to provide proactive advice and support in all situations to arrive at the best result in the shortest time
* Act as Business Head Delegate for CDDs, BBAs and GICs for Americas
* Execute delegations from Regional Head Global Banking for SRAF, FM/ Trade Ops and all exceptional approvals
Sales Management
* Hold Workbench team accountable for development of Americas sales pipeline reporting and provide regular analysis of pipeline
* Review and manage Account Plans and Deal Requests for Americas where appropriate, challenging where necessary
* Ensure teams are uploading all call reports in timely manner
* Keep a record of key deals closed on a weekly basis
* Review Next 100 and New 90 clients lists on a regular basis in conjunction with Sub Segment heads to ensure effective coverage and tracking against objectives
* Minute relevant pipeline and origination calls and play an active role in Account Planning Forums as delegate of Regional Head
* Lead and track initiatives significantly affecting Americas
* Review individual client and portfolio revenues each month via latest PMI data, identifying issues and working with finance and the client teams to ensure that any issues are resolved

Communication
* Work with Regional Head, Regional Management Team to ensure effective communication of key Americas business messages within CIB, throughout Group and externally
* Build a network with other Business Planning Managers for Products and within the CIB team globally to ensure consistency of approach and high quality information flow
* Act as a sounding board for staff within Global Banking Americas
Others
* Lead or participate in other business-specific projects
* Ensure the business meets its obligations under Group Policy, Code of Conduct and complies with local laws and regulations

Knowledge and Skills

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications & Skills
* Minimum of 5-7 years of banking experience
* Strong and detailed understanding of CIB business and product capabilities, such as sales process, relationship management, risk, product sales etc
* Strong understanding of End to End client process
* Excellent administration skills including organisation, planning and co-ordination skills
* Highly proactive, demonstrating ambition, dedication and pride in work
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to delegate and co-ordinate responses from large numbers of stakeholders
* Willing to challenge the status quo, comfortable interacting with senior management
* Strong organisational and project management skills with excellent eye for detail
