Are you an experienced HR leader who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders, building trusted relationships, and leading a broad people function within a purpose-driven organisation?
We're partnering with a well-established not-for-profit organisation on Sydney's North Shore to recruit a full-time, permanent Head of People & Culture. Reporting directly to the CEO-equivalent and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, you'll lead the organisation's people strategy while remaining hands-on across the full employee lifecycle.

The Role
Reporting to the Executive Leader and leading a small People & Culture team, you will be responsible for delivering a broad HR function across approximately 200 employees.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic and operational HR leadership across the full employee lifecycle
- Partnering closely with executive leaders to provide trusted advice on people, culture, organisational development, and workforce planning
- Leading employee and industrial relations matters, including performance management, investigations, grievances, and policy interpretation
- Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management initiatives
- Driving employee engagement, wellbeing, leadership development, and organisational culture initiatives
- Leading performance review programs and learning & development initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, WGEA requirements, and HR best practice
- Developing and reviewing HR policies, procedures, and people frameworks
- Leading HR reporting, workforce analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Managing and developing one direct report while fostering a collaborative and service-focused HR function
About You
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a senior HR leadership or HR Manager role with broad generalist responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, industrial relations, employment legislation, and HR best practice
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and building trusted stakeholder relationships across an organisation
- A collaborative, relationship-driven leadership style with the ability to influence through coaching and partnership rather than authority
- Experience developing HR policies, managing organisational change, and leading performance and engagement initiatives
- Strong understanding of Fair Work legislation, National Employment Standards, and enterprise agreements
- Experience within education, not-for-profit, healthcare, or other purpose-driven organisations will be highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
