Senior 3rd Party Risk Manager | AI & Digital Infrastructure

Robert Half Australia Sydney, Australia

The Opportunity

Join a globally recognised technology and infrastructure business that is helping power the next generation of AI, cloud computing and digital infrastructure. With operations spanning Australia, North America and Europe, the organisation is experiencing significant growth and investing heavily in the governance, risk and operational capabilities needed to support its expanding footprint.

This presents a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Third Party Risk Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping how risk is managed across a complex international network of suppliers, partners and service providers. Sitting within a highly regarded Group Risk function, you'll have the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide outcomes, work closely with executive stakeholders and help build scalable frameworks that support the organisation's continued growth.

Operating in a fast-paced, highly commercial environment, this role combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building capability, driving change and partnering with the business to solve complex challenges. With exposure to emerging technologies, critical infrastructure and a global stakeholder group, this is a rare opportunity to make a genuine impact within an industry at the forefront of digital transformation.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Risk, you will lead the organisation's Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) program, while also establishing a robust contract obligations management framework that supports the company's rapid growth and evolving risk landscape.

You will:

  • Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the Group's Third Party Risk Management framework
  • Develop and embed governance structures, decision-making forums, escalation pathways and reporting mechanisms for third-party risk
  • Establish and oversee a contract obligations management framework across supplier, customer and financing agreements
  • Translate contractual commitments into clear business requirements, ownership responsibilities and compliance checkpoints
  • Partner with stakeholders across Procurement, Legal, Finance, Operations and Construction to ensure risks and obligations are effectively managed
  • Oversee material service provider governance and assurance programs
  • Identify, assess and manage third-party risks across cyber, privacy, regulatory, financial, operational and reputational risk domains
  • Conduct risk assessments, current-state reviews and framework uplift initiatives
  • Provide guidance and practical support to obligation owners across the organisation
  • Deliver reporting and insights to senior management and the Board Audit & Risk Committee
  • Drive the implementation of technology and AI-enabled solutions that make third-party risk management scalable across multiple jurisdictions

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Build a critical capability: Lead the evolution of a Group-wide third-party risk and contractual governance framework
  • Highly strategic position: Drive risk outcomes that directly support business growth, resilience and operational excellence
  • Global exposure: Operate across Australia, North America and Europe within a complex multi-jurisdictional environment
  • Commercially embedded: Work directly with senior leaders across key business functions rather than operating within a siloed risk team
  • Future-focused organisation: Leverage technology and AI to modernise governance and risk management practices
  • Strong visibility: Regular interaction with executive leadership and Board-level stakeholders
  • Hybrid working: Sydney CBD location with flexible working arrangements

About You

You are a commercially minded risk professional with experience building frameworks, influencing stakeholders and driving governance outcomes across complex organisations.

Your background is likely to include:

  • 8+ years' experience within third-party risk, operational risk, compliance, governance, audit, consulting or related risk disciplines
  • Deep understanding of Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) frameworks, governance and assurance practices
  • Experience managing or overseeing material suppliers, outsourcing arrangements or critical service providers
  • Exposure to contract obligations management and translating contractual requirements into practical business processes
  • Strong understanding of risk domains including cyber, privacy, regulatory, financial, operational and reputational risk
  • Experience developing governance frameworks, controls and reporting mechanisms from the ground up
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all levels of an organisation
  • Experience presenting reporting and insights to senior leadership, committees or Board-level stakeholders
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and the ability to operate effectively within a fast-growing environment
