Our client is a leading, globally operating independent alternative investment manager (Private Equity Fund of Funds), which originated from the family office of an established German industrial family. The firm is looking to expand its PE Finance team in Germany and as part of that, is looking to hire a Financial Reporting Associate to join their Bad Homburg-based office. In this position, you will work closely with the investment team and the GPs to obtain and deliver the most accurate data in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review large data sets (cost, fair value, total invested, proceeds, etc.) from the underlying funds with the ability to spot discrepancies
  • Understand and decipher financial statements and notices from the underlying funds and integrate that awareness into the work product
  • Effectively communicate with the GPs and investment team to reconcile any data inconsistencies
  • Respond to all internal and external inquiries regarding portfolio company level information
  • Responsibility for the transference of accurate data and GP materials to third parties and for the quality of data captured
  • Maintain the portfolio company data warehouse table

YOUR PROFILE:
  • An excellent business degree, ideally with a focus on business administration, finance, accounting or controlling
  • Significant initial relevant work experience in accounting, gained either directly at a private equity fund, a fund of funds or an audit department of a Big 4 company
  • Sound understanding of accounting rules
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels of the organisation as well as GPs; capacity to quickly understand the nuances of each GP
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow projects through to completion; accustomed to working independently
  • Proficiency with Excel is essential whilst prior experience with Investran, iPreo (iLevel) and Burgiss Private Informant is a plus
  • Fluency in German and English are a must
