Our client is a prominent private equity-backed healthcare roll-up, with operations in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Norway. The firm is led by an experienced senior management team who are planning to grow the company further through add-on acquisitions in several European markets. For their German holding, they are now looking to hire a CFO to guide and lead the German business on its ambitious growth path. Based in the German office in Hamburg with some flexibility for home office, you will work closely with the German senior management team, the Group CFO and the shareholders.

  • Set up and lead the German finance function (Strategic Controlling, PMI, IT, Tax); the accounting function is led by a senior individual
  • Implement and optimise best-in-class management information systems and KPIs
  • Conduct budget planning (monthly, yearly and medium-term) and forecasting
  • Coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Report financial results to the management board, advisory board, lenders and shareholders as well as preparing ad hoc analyses
  • Lead the Shared Service Center and set it up for further growth
  • Manage cash and liquidity and drive working capital improvements
  • Support the buy-and-build strategy (financial due diligence) and post-merger integration
  • Improve and optimise finance processes and control instruments and tools
  • Be the main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, lawyers and other external contacts; interact regularly with the advisory board and the shareholders

  • Excellent academic credentials, ideally with a focus on business administration, finance, accounting or controlling
  • Gained well-rounded operational finance skill-set as CFO / Finance Director either in a Mittelstands firm or in a corporate setting, ideally combined with prior consulting experience
  • An affinity to German Mittelstand is essential; sector experience in the healthcare sector is a plus
  • Familiarity working within decentralised organisational structures
  • Past experience working with private equity investors is advantageous, though not a must
  • Familiarity and track record of driving value creation within dynamic environments
  • Excellent analytical skills and outstanding business judgement
  • Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, a self-starter with a high energy level and a strong sense of ownership. Accustomed to working independently in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills; proven ability to interact professionally
  • Fluency in German and English is required
