Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining the stability, availability, and performance of PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB environments. You will play a key role in ensuring business-critical databases operate efficiently while supporting ongoing improvements in monitoring, resilience, and scalability.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide day-to-day operational support for database systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Administer, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB database environments.
- Perform routine database administration activities, including backups, patching, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents in a timely manner.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to meet business and technical requirements.
- Implement and promote best practices for database security, reliability, monitoring, and scalability.
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to operational excellence through proactive maintenance and monitoring.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator supporting PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with database administration, monitoring, and operational support.
- Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Experience managing database backup and recovery processes.
- Strong understanding of database availability, reliability, and security best practices.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve database issues in complex production environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Maintain high availability and performance of database systems.
- Deliver timely resolution of database-related incidents and service requests.
- Reduce operational risk through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
- Implement best practices that improve database reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
