Project Manager - Finance & Actuarial Change

About the Role



We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the successful delivery of two strategic Finance change initiatives: an actuarial model migration programme and a fund project.



This role will be responsible for coordinating project delivery activities across Finance, Actuarial, IT, external suppliers and senior stakeholders, ensuring both initiatives progress in a controlled, well-governed and timely manner. The successful candidate will play a central role in delivery planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, risk and dependency management, and business readiness activities.

Key Responsibilities



As Project Manager, you will:

• Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of ALPI activities across both the actuarial model migration and fund project.


• Ensure business requirements, project plans, actions, risks, issues and dependencies are clearly documented, owned and actively managed.


• Provide proactive and transparent communication on project progress, key decisions, issues and actions to stakeholders at all levels.


• Support project delivery through the effective coordination of ALPI stakeholders, milestones, governance activities, regulatory requirements and business readiness plans.


• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, milestone trackers, RAID logs, decision logs and action trackers, ensuring reporting is accurate, timely and suitable for senior stakeholder review.


• Organise and facilitate governance forums, working groups and Steering Committee (SteerCo) meetings, ensuring materials are prepared, actions are tracked and decisions are formally documented.


• Coordinate activities with external partners, advisers and specialist suppliers, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment.


• Support business readiness activities, including process documentation, controls design, training, knowledge transfer, transition to BAU operations and post-implementation support arrangements.


• Promote strong project governance, change management and risk disciplines, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed governance frameworks, risk and control requirements, and Aviva change management standards.


• Build and maintain strong working relationships across local ALPI teams, Aviva UK/IWR stakeholders, external suppliers and senior business leaders to support successful project delivery.

Skills & Experience




Essential

• Experience in Project Management, Change Delivery, PMO, Business Transformation or related roles.


• Experience working within Financial Services, Insurance, Actuarial, Finance or other regulated environments.


• Strong planning and project coordination skills, with proven experience managing project plans, milestones, RAID logs, action trackers and governance reporting.


• Experience supporting medium to large-scale change programmes involving multiple stakeholders, business areas, suppliers and delivery workstreams.


• Good understanding of project governance, change control, risk management, dependency management and business readiness disciplines.


• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively and maintain delivery momentum.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of governance papers, status reports, meeting outputs and executive-level updates.


• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and drive actions through to completion.

Desirable

• Experience working with external suppliers, consultants or implementation partners.


• Knowledge of Finance and/or Actuarial processes within an insurance environment.


• Experience supporting regulatory or business-critical transformation programmes.
