We're working with a highly regarded investment management business looking to hire an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join its London finance team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with an Accounts Payable or Assistant Accountant background who wants to develop their technical accounting skills within a sophisticated financial services environment. Working alongside an experienced finance team, you'll gain exposure to management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, tax and finance operations while continuing to build your career.
Responsibilities- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Process company invoices, payments and employee expenses.
- Prepare intercompany reconciliations and invoices.
- Assist with financial analysis and budget reporting.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Support statutory accounts, year-end audit and tax compliance.
- Work closely with external bookkeepers and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to finance process improvements and ad hoc projects.
We're looking for someone who is eager to learn and develop within investment management.
Ideally you'll have:
- 1-5 years' experience within Accounts Payable, Assistant Accounting or a similar finance role.
- Be studying towards, or interested in studying, an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership.
- The ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced finance team.
Previous experience within financial services is beneficial but not essential.
