Job Purpose:

Under the leadership and direction of the Group Head of Specialized Finance to originate and execute structured finance transactions with prospective and existing Bank ABC clients/project sponsors, primarily in the Bank’s MENA markets.

Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of Role:

Business generation

Working closely with the Wholesale Bank corporate and FI coverage teams across the ABC network to generate target business, while generating significant fee income. Help to develop and strengthen Bank ABC’s position as the pre-eminent project & structured finance bank in the region, providing integrated value-added solutions to clients. Maintain close contacts with counterparts at other banks/NBFIs to help generate business.

Business execution

Help to win and close transactions for SF clients in diverse industries across the Bank’s global network, ensuring attractive and appropriate risk/returns for Bank ABC and promoting multiproduct cross-sell. Act as deal team lead on lending and advisory transactions, usually as a mandated lead arranger, but selectively for strong credit and high-yielding transactions as a participant. Product capability will include project finance, asset-backed lending (i.e. aviation, shipping, rigs, etc.), reserve-based lending, corporate finance (i.e. LBO’s), ECA lending, debt advisory, fund finance (i.e. capital call facilities) and other forms of non-vanilla lending.

Teamwork

Work as part of a productive and co-operative team spirit within the Wholesale Bank group, with Coverage, Loan Syndications and other Product and Bank ABC units. Use experience and knowledge of MENA markets to help drive business flows.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge

Detailed knowledge of project and structured finance, including deal structuring, term sheet negotiation, credit analysis, modelling and documentation
Ability to develop new business products and strategies
Ability to present deals to senior management and credit committee
Broad banking product knowledge, to allow cross-selling of other ABC products
Strong credit analysis and administration skills
Strong computer skills

Education / Certifications

A bachelor’s degree in finance/banking or any relevant field. MBA/ MSc. Preferred.

Experience

15 years of previous experience to include min. 10 years in a Project / Structured Finance role. Fund finance experience preferable
Proven experience and track record of successfully originating and executing lending and advisory transactions
