You will work following the New Way of Working which is driven by autonomy and easiest alignment. Your role & work environment

As an Advisory Road Manager, you will provide support to the organization in bringing about complex change programs. You will be responsible for managing various projects within the program and ensure consistency therein, as a component of the change portfolio planned by the bank. You will have in-depth knowledge of project/program management tools and methods, of process performance and of operational excellence. You will coordinate the projects within the program in collaboration with the Tribe Leads and Product Owners.

Your key responsibilities

As an Advisory Road Manager, you will perform the below described responsibilities within or outside a strategic framework

Support the organization in the realization of complex change programs and be responsible for management of elements of (or the entirety of) a program. Work with the Tribe Leads and the Product Owners.

Program management

  • contribute to the definition of deliverables and criteria of success in agreement with the program sponsor
  • contribute to the organization of the program around the deliverables agreed, establishes priorities, defines the planning, the budget and ensure approval
  • contribute to identification of risks and dependencies, and to the mitigating actions to be implemented to manage these
  • contribute to the organization, validation and allocation of resources with the Tribe Lead(s), as well as optimal use of the skills required in the program
  • support the program coordination, delivery of intermediary and final deliverables, financial management, achievement of the expected benefits and of meeting the quality criteria
  • ensure deliverables are included in the Tribe Quarterly Business Reviews

Stakeholder Management
  • Support and encourage good relationships with the various actors in the program as well as with senior manager(s) in order to ensure sponsorship, involvement and commitment for an extended period
Issue/Risk/Change Management
  • Draw up and implement the risk management plan and any problems and changes to the program
  • Resolve or mitigate risks, problems and significant changes as well as the dependencies concerned, within and outside of the program
Strategic Advice and Solution Design
  • propose, in line with the bank's strategy, a relevant and value adding analysis of complex issues proposed
  • bring together, to facilitate decision-making, elements and facts, formulates and tests assumptions, clarifies, explains, formulates conclusions and proposes pragmatic solutions structured around specific deliverables with measurable benefits
Change Management and Communication
  • Able to take decisions at a tactical and/or strategic level and, to do so, build a relationship of trust with management and/or subordinates
  • inspire and motivate stakeholders, to achieve a common objective
  • define and presents the final solution and the impact on the organization, whilst explaining and defending the reasons for choosing the solution
  • handle communication relating to the program to ensure the understanding, acceptance and appropriate implementation of the solution proposed
  • leads by example and/or becomes a key player
Service Level Management and Supplier Management
  • In collaboration with Procurement and in line with ING's guidelines and procedures: manage the preparation and specifications for sourcing
  • Plan and conduct negotiations giving rise to agreements and significant commitments between ING and the supplier
  • Oversee and monitor the agreement entered into with the supplier as regards exceeding the tolerated margins for costs, deadlines, quality, problems, risks and changes
End of the program
  • Plan for and execute the activities relating to the lessons learned from the program
  • Take charge of the decommissioning of the program: closure of the agreement with the supplier, confirmation of the formal acceptance by the relevant Program Board, prepare all the documentation necessary for future reuse
  • Follow up on the recommended actions for the program
  • Plan and carry out a post-program review to evaluate the effectiveness of the program results in terms of use and strategic advantages

  • Be strong in communication to make (very) complex things easy
  • Have a Master's degree and/or relevant experience of at least 8 years in project or program management
  • Good knowledge of English and Dutch or French
  • Have Global Bank knowledge
