Associate Director - Sales & Business Development Role (China Based)

Strong experience in selling data, research, fixed income pricing, analytics or cloud-based subscription products | 5+ years of sales and business development experience | Target buy side (Hedge Funds/ Private Equity / Asset Management/ others) and sell side (Banks/ Brokers) market | Cover Greater China Market

Our client is a Global FinTech Firm, looking for a newly created Associate Director Sales & Business Development role to hire an experienced professional who has strong client-facing skills including all aspects of business development with focus is placing focus on new business sales, renewing of existing business and enabling the roll-out of new products and services.


You will be involved in activities such as:

  • Generation of lead pipeline for new business and renewal of existing business
  • Reporting of actual vs. budgeted sales on a regular basis and accurate forecasting
  • Maintain pipeline and generate management reports (cold calls list, user list etc.) from Salesforce
  • Take responsibility for keeping company products knowledge to a high standard for defined product area and to a referral standard for company other product lines, remaining aware of developments
  • Act as a point person for allocated products providing support to clients, technical information, product characteristics, coaching sales peers in terms of sales USPs and pre-sales questioning
  • Actively participate and drive activities such as sales conferences and special events, sales collateral production, client entertainment, association memberships to maximize sales revenue and retention


You will possess:

  • Proven sales and business development experience in financial services market
  • Recent experience selling to Chinese financial institutions ideally in Greater China market
  • Strong knowledge in Data, Analytics, fixed income, Indices related products
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and ability to manage multiple sales in parallel whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to present and negotiate with senior level management and manage complex sales process
  • Excellent written and spoken English, Mandarin or Cantonese language skills required
