Details of the role and how it fits into the team You will be joining the Strats Analytics Group, working in a team delivering applications that solve quantitative problems. You will be in the Platform Strats team as a lead developer, guiding others as well as contributing code yourself supporting change on the current cross business Risk and P&L platform and building out the new strategic platform that is replacing it. Development will include Java or C++ (depending on your skillset) and Python on trade processing, risk and P&L, automated controls functionality and integration between platforms.
Your key responsibilities - Working in a cross-functional agile team on the whole system stack delivering robust and performant solutions
- Architecting/designing solutions to evolve existing components and functionality using Java or C++ and Python
- Communicating with stakeholders (Strats Team, Trading, MRM, Finance) to understand their requirements
- Maintaining the system in production including through joining the support rota
- Participating in product delivery process alignment and improvement
- Responsible for providing technical and business leadership for team members and management of deliveries
Your skills and experiences - University degree in an appropriate computer science or engineering / scientific subject
- Strong experience of server-side development in Java or C++ and Python, including multi-threading
- Experienced developing front-office banking applications
- Understanding of derivatives products, risk and P&L and market data
- Ability to influence stakeholders and partner teams in order to deliver robust and viable solutions.
