Credit Analyst - NBFI

Summary
We are looking for a credit analyst to join our team, covering a portfolio of Non Bank Financial Institution clients. This portfolio will consist of Insurers, Sovereigns, Broker Dealers and Development Organisations.
In this position your key responsibility will be the proposal of credit applications for both current and prospective counterparties - this will include in-depth financial strength analysis, industry and macro-economic analysis, credit grade scoring and the rationalisation of the counterparty's requirement for the Bank's products. You will be tasked with ensuring each credit proposal is in line with the bank's appetite for risk.
The role also requires extensive credit management, such as the annual renewal of the Bank's exposures to your portfolio of counterparties and the monitoring of covenants.

You will be attuned to the needs of two audiences - Client Coverage and Risk - supporting the former in developing and executing their client strategies, and the latter in respect of the proposition of credit applications. Maintaining integrity in analysis at all times is critical.
Frequent discussion with both Client Coverage and Risk around analysis, key sector & geographic trends, as well as the discussion of covenants, risk triggers and the like is essential.
Proactive idea generation and discussion with Client Coverage around potential business opportunities, assisting both Client Coverage and Risk around transaction structuring and execution where relevant, is also key.

Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of financial statements and balance sheet strength principles, being able to demonstrate a strong analytical ability attuned to the assessment and calibration of credit risk;
Solid relevant experience will have been gained either in a banking, ratings or an accounting environment;
A sound understanding of the Insurance sector is advantageous, or otherwise in the broader Financial Institutions universe;
Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English), with proven ability to work across cultures and within a dynamic environment is key;
You must be well organized and able to multi-task and balance competing demands.

Qualifications:
Graduates / Graduate calibre (preferable);
Sound knowledge of accounting and financial principles gained by experience or qualification;
MBA or CFA qualifications advantageous, but not required;
Relevant language skills advantageous, but not required.
