The role is part of the Standard Chartered Bank Germany team and will provide broad based support to all functions performed by the team with a focus on governance process, such as preparation of reporting, handling of requests for information, tracking status on issues etc.

Strategy

· Support the implementation of the vision, strategy, direction and leadership for FCC Germany, consistent with the Group vision and strategy for FCC.


Processes

· Support the country and group FCC Governance processes in terms of maintaining record keeping, preparing reporting, tracking and providing reporting on key issues etc.

· Support provision of governance and oversight over the implementation of all FCC-related policies and procedures in Germany to ensure compliance with such policies and procedures.

· Support completion of the local FCC Risk Assessment (GRA), Product Risk Assessment and Obligations register



People and Talent

· Promote and embed a culture of openness, trust and risk awareness, where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm.

· Assist in preparation and provision of training

Risk Management

· Understand technical aspects of systems relevant to Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Client Risk Assessments, Name and Transaction Screening, AML Monitoring and Case Management, ABC.

· Apply Entity, Group and FCC policies and processes (AML surveillance, client screening, risk assessment) to manage risks.

· Identify financial crime risk indicators through various internal/external sources that impact SCB and its clients.

· Conduct root cause analysis on the control/other failures to ensure lessons are learned across the bank.

· Provide intelligence (to internal forums) on specific clients, client-types and emerging risk typologies.

Governance

· Support the FCC regulatory obligation register

Regulatory & Business Conduct

· Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.

· Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank AG.

· Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

Relevant experience with experience of general Financial Crime Compliance (fraud / sanctions / anti money laundering/ ABC) or Compliance environment
Professionally qualified - Graduate or Post Graduate in a business or law discipline
Experience with local regulatory environment - focus on financial crime regulations
Experience in Financial Crime Risk / Financial Crime Intelligence
Excellent analytical and report-writing skills
Strong communication and inter-personal skills
Able to work independently in an international environment
Fluent, in German
Fluent in English
