Our client is a well-established independent mid-market buyout firm. The firm has a long and successful track record of investing into the DACH region across a variety of sectors. They are now looking to hire a Finance Director to lead the fund's finance function. The position will be based in Frankfurt.

  • As a Finance Director, you will lead the firm's finance function including reporting; fund administration and investor relations; treasury; regulatory, compliance and legal as well as portfolio work
  • Reporting: quarterly fair value analysis; preparation of quarterly investor reporting; year-end (HGB & IFRS) reporting and coordination of audits of the funds' financial statements
  • Fund administration and investor relations: preparation of investor presentations and meetings; determination of performance indicators; provision of all relevant data for investor reporting purposes; ensuring continuous and transparent investor communication, coordination of tax advisors for tax declarations
  • Treasury: liquidity planning and cash flow management for the funds and the GP; management of capital calls and capital distributions; invoice processing
  • Regulatory, compliance and legal: review and ensure compliance with common formalities, including ensuring that reporting obligations to the respective authorities are met; contact person for tax-related and legal issues; responsible for the coordination of external providers, preparation and management of contracts (NDAs, Els, Fee Letters, etc.) in consultation with legal advisors
  • Responsible contact person for auditors, tax advisors, banks and other external contacts
  • Involvement in portfolio work, where appropriate: support in parts of the due diligence process; in the on-boarding of new portfolio companies with a focus on reporting and transparency; in the implementation of 180-day plans; monitoring and continuous development of best practices and in the structuring of acquisition financings or recaps

  • Strong academic credentials, ideally with a focus on business administration, accounting, finance or controlling
  • Significant relevant work experience in fund controlling, investment controlling, the audit department of a professional services firm or leverage finance, partly in a leadership position
  • Strong accounting know-how (HGB / IFRS)
  • Past experience working with private equity investors is helpful
  • Strong analytical skills with an affinity to numbers
  • Pro-active, hands-on approach. Accustomed to working independent
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Fluency in German and English is required
