Macquarie Capital - Business Operations Associate

This is a fantastic opportunity to join us in a unique hybrid role of Business Management coupled with Operational Risk, to assist the Head of Macquarie Capital Europe AEA in overseeing operations and ensuring operational risk is appropriately managed.

You will have the opportunity to become a key member of the Business Management and Business Operational Risk Management teams reporting into the Macquarie Capital EMEA COO & Head of Macquarie Capital Europe AEA and the European Business Operational Risk Manager.

You will produce analysis, presentations and senior management reports (including strategic content) relating to the Macquarie Capital business and market environment in the region and assist in the management of day-to-day operational issues in areas such as deal management, marketing/communications, and other ad hoc queries. Working with the deal teams you will assess and assist with the implementation of new product and business opportunities.

You will execute and monitor risk management practices, detailed investigation of operational issues and control breakdowns in Macquarie Capital to determine root cause and trends, design and complete control assurance testing on critical controls and present results to senior management and assist businesses in the scoping and deployment of significant business enhancements, such as new system implementations, regulatory changes and business integrations, to ensure operational risks have been considered and mitigated.

You will bring with you, substantial previous experience in business management and operational risk, preferably within a financial services or consulting environment and a degree level (or equivalent) education or other relevant professional qualifications.

You will possess technical and analytical skills, and exceptional attention to detail as well as sound judgement, have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.

Your advanced proficiency in written and spoken German will allow you to function effectively in this role, as is your ability to handle a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously.

You will be proactive and results focused, highly organised and show high levels of initiative and have the ability to work independently as well as within a team in a dynamic environment.

Your solid experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, will enable analysis and presentation building. You will also preferably have experience with the Deal Gateway system and Salesforce.
