The Macquarie Insurance Facility is an aggregated insurance buying programme that was originally created to deliver portfolio benefits to Macquarie owned and managed assets. Through its scale and buying power, it has delivered savings in excess of US$215m to participating businesses. In addition to the Macquarie assets, it is now accessed by over 40 Private Equity firms and Infrastructure Funds representing 450+ portfolio companies. Together, the Macquarie assets and third-party businesses represent over US$1bn of premium spend, making it one of the largest buyers of insurance in the world.
Joining our EMEA team as an Associate based in continental Europe, you will perform duties within the Managing General Agent (MGA) side of the business. The Insurance Facility MGA is a follow-form, multi-line MGA delivering exclusive benefits to private equity and infrastructure clients. The MGA team works closely alongside the buying program team, providing product to the buying programme's distribution. Your responsibilities will require you to:
- Review submissions received by the MGA for EEA risks placed into the London market, against pre-agreed underwriting criteria (sector, line of business, nat cat and aggregation limits etc.)
- Generate solutions where a risk does not fit the underwriting criteria and obtain sign off from AIG/Zurich EEA
- Responsible for broker engagement with relevant broker EEA branches, including the receipt of submissions and confirming follow line support
- Confirmation and issuance of policy documents including stamping of slips
- Ongoing management of EEA accounts, including cancellations, additional premiums, renewals and the non-payment of premium
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both the capacity providers and brokers
- Work with the broader Insurance team to build out the MGA's ability to write business led out of continental Europe
Your prior experience in commercial lines insurance; preference for multiline product and/or underwriting experience in addition to your track-record of exceeding targets and ability to solve complex problems will be vital in this role.
You will have outstanding communication skills and a strong client focus; existing market and broker relationships viewed favourably and the ability to manage business pressures and client expectations while maintaining a high degree of motivation and professionalism.
You will have a high level of attention to detail, methodical and organised approach.
Experience in Transactional Liability and a background in Law would be beneficial although not vital for this role.
You will have the ability to demonstrate sound business judgement whilst managing complex workstreams and possess strong interpersonal skills which will give you the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels and be an effective team player.
