Our client is a well-established alternative investment group with multiple fund strategies in place already across a number of international markets. The firm now plans to extend its successful growth equity business into the DACH market and is seeking to recruit a senior private equity investor to lead this programme. This is an opportunity to play a leadership role in establishing a new player with a differentiated strategy in the mid-market and an attractive culture, and building a team over time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead relationship building and deal sourcing with advisers, owners and other investors
  • Manage deal analysis, structuring, diligence and negotiations
  • Develop and implement portfolio value creation initiatives alongside management teams
  • Build and develop a team of investors around yourself, liaising closely with senior colleagues across the organisation
  • The office location is in Frankfurt and you will need to commit to be there as necessary but clearly a major part of this role will involve travel to target companies and related parties all over the DACH market. For candidates not already based in Frankfurt, it may not be necessary to relocate fully providing you are willing to travel as required
YOUR PROFILE:
  • A successful track record as a private equity investor; no need for specific sector experience but a strong affinity for growing businesses and a great emotional connection to entrepreneurial managers
  • An excellent sector network and the confidence and discipline to utilise this to drive a structured deal origination programme
  • Native German and fluent English, with an international mindset, naturally able to work in cross-border teams
  • Hunger and ambition, the motivation to lead an effective market entry and build a significant new player in a competitive market
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a natural leader able to win trust, build conviction among colleagues and inspire and train younger colleagues
