Overall Purpose of the Role: The AFC (Anti Financial Crime) Business Partner, aligned to Origination and Advisory (O&A) (formerly known as Corporate Finance), is a critical role that helps the O&A department in its management of the financial crime risk. The Business Line AFC (BLAFC) Corporate Bank (CB) & Investment Bank (IB) Germany/EMEA unit has, as its primary role, responsibility for supporting the CB & IB business and operations comply with laws, regulations, rules, expectations of regulators, the standards of self-regulatory organizations, and codes of conduct/ethics in connection with the Bank's regulated activities.
Your key responsibilities (non-exhaustive): - You are responsible to provide senior advisory and guidance to the O&A business with regards to AFC topics, in particular know-your-customer and money laundering-related topics
- You act as senior AFC Germany point of contact and escalation for the O&A business and coordinate risk assessments of other AFC functions (eg. Anti-Fraud Bribery & Corruption and Sanctions & Embargoes)
- You independently review and assess urgent Escalations on possible new/existing O&A clients, products, transactions that present Financial Crime Risk for the Investment Bank in Germany.
- You review team members' risk assessment and sign-off on Escalations and AFC no-objection statements.
- You work in continuous communication and exchange with the local, regional and global AFC network, the business units, product teams and KYC operations as well as with other infrastructure teams (compliance, legal department, divisional control unit, etc.).
- You participate as AFC Subject Matter Expert in various working groups initiated by AFC and O&A Business.
Your skills and experiences: - You will have a minimum of 8 years of practice and relevant experience in AML/AFC/Financial Crime Compliance in a major financial institution (preferably international)
- You will have a strong understanding of international AML rules and regulations (German AML Act, EU AML Directives, etc.)
- You will be experienced in providing financial crime advisory services particularly in assessing client risk exposures to senior business and AFC stakeholders
- You will have previous experience in coordinating members of a team (highly preferable)
- You will be able to communicate positively, effectively, and efficiently with stakeholders at all levels of seniority
- You will have strategic and collaborative problem solving and proven analytical skills
- You will be able to work autonomously and execute projects with limited supervision; proactive and self-motivated
