The Portfolio Management Team is responsible for designing and implementing the investment strategy for the portfolios of the German Life and Health insurance companies of Allianz, which amount to almost 50% of Allianz Group’s total insurance asset base. As such, we cooperate closely with our colleagues within the global AIM network and our internal and external asset managers in developing our investment strategy and adapting it to the specific needs of the portfolios we manage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of AIM’s global investment strategy based on fundamental market analysis for different asset classes. The position will have a focus on our traded equity mandates
  • Select asset managers in cooperation with AIM’s global Asset Manager Management team. Look in details into asset managers’ strategies and define investment guidelines and targets
  • Implement the approved investment strategy together with our asset managers, following the current tactical asset allocation recommendation. Contribute to achieve superior investment returns and financial results, in line with the targets and restrictions of our portfolios
  • Shape our approach to implementing the Allianz ESG and carbon reduction targets together with the asset mangers
  • Closely follow the economic macro environment and potential implications for our investment strategy
  • Monitor and analyze existing portfolio investments and respective asset managers and be first point of contact for questions in this area for the relevant stakeholders


Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
Qualifications and experience

  • Background in capital markets in junior or senior position (3 years plus for associate level)
  • Excellent master’s degree in relevant field of study (economics, finance, financial mathematics)
  • Good knowledge of data analytics
  • Fluency in English and German, written and spoken
  • Skills
  • Good understanding of capital markets and their macro drivers
  • Very strong analytical skills and willingness to learn
  • Team-player and with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Perform well in a fast-paced international work environment and ability to multi-task
