SILEX provides top-down macro portfolio optimization across a variety of asset classes, including global stocks, bonds, currencies, commodities & funds. The Financial Data Analyst/Developer full-time will support Silex Technologies Quantitative Team in charge of Silex Digital Platform SPARK, as well as support the portfolio management activities. Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail are required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting with development, programming, documentation, maintenance, production and improvment of the functions, models (fundamental and quantitative), spreadsheets, indicators and charts used by PMs and Analysts for identifying attractive asset classes, markets, sectors, industries (top-down focus)
  • Helping to maintain, organize and expand existing 3rd party and proprietary financial and economic databases, including development of data loaders, locating new sources of data as well as individual data series
  • Expanding the teams security/factor data set and performing related analysis and research.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently, exceptional organizational skills, and a detail-oriented approach
  • Degree focus in Computer Science or Financial Mathematics, with some Statistics/modeling or Economics/Finance background; 
  • High level of computer literacy on Microsoft Windows and Linux platforms required, including excellent MS Excel skills, proficiency with process automation (VBA/C#, Java, Python, Shell), experience with relational databases (SQL) and web-scraping
  • Familiarity with financial data providers (Thomson-Reuters Eikon/Datastream, Bloomberg, FactSet, etc.)

The ideal candidate would also fulfil one or some of the followings points:

  • CFA Program in progress or obtained
  • Familiarity with statistical software (Matlab, R, Splus, etc...)
  • Already exposed to or experienced in factor/style investing
