Assistant Manager, Infrastructure Project Management

Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Infrastructure Project Management has responsibilities include understand and implement the IT Infrastructure projects to local market; analyses and liaises with stakeholders from business, Group IT, Local IT, and vendors for the best handling approach; oversee the project implementation status; provide consultancy services; and provide solutions to long outstanding problems.

The Job:
Understand Group initiated Infrastructure project
  • Maintain a close dialogue with Group IT and be familiar with technology roadmap and planned Infrastructure projects which local IT is requested to implement. Focus on Cloud related and integration projects, yet not limited by them.
  • Exchange information with Group IT where appropriate so that Group is aware of local situation, challenges facing and business needs.

Analysis and discuss with internal stakeholders
  • Analysis Group's IT initiated infrastructure project request on its impact to local business.
  • Translate the project into local IT's requirements, derive impact, propose recommendation, and agree with internal stakeholders on the best approach for implementation.

Liaise and oversee project implementation status
  • Prepare project plan after soliciting all inputs.
  • Liaise among business, Group IT, vendors, internal IT resources and oversee project implementation status.
  • Prepare presentation materials and conduct the presentation to various key stakeholders.
  • Report regularly to management on progress and propose recommendations to tackle obstacles.
  • Manage shortfalls, source alternate solutions when needed, and escalate where appropriate for a successful implementation.

Consultancy services
  • Provide consultancy and project management services to other Infrastructure & Services teams on local initiated projects.
  • C arry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the management

The Person:
  • University degree in IT or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of project management and related experience on infrastructure management.
  • Working experience in Finance Services Industry or large corporate is preferred; working experience in Insurance institution would be an advantage.
  • Certified Project Management personnel (such as PMP) would be an advantage.
  • Possess track record of implementing large scale network revamp, technology deployment and/or Cloud migration projects.
  • High level of technical understanding and competence across multiple intersecting disciplines to be able to quickly analyze situations, correlate ideas and make decisions on issues and resolutions.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and a committed team player.
  • Strong technical, project management and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
