The Asia Syndicated Finance Department - Loan Sales & Structuring Team is responsible for: 1) Strengthening relationships with investors in the syndication markets, 2) Selling down primary loan assets, including underwriting position of the primary transactions within approved sell-down period, 3) Finding secondary market's sell/buy demands and matching their demands, 4) Controlling the whole process of loan trading and 5) Structuring bespoke financing solutions which meet the needs of both the borrower and investors.

Role Requirements

  • To support and grow single revenue stream businesses for ASFD including reverse marketing, loan trading etc.;
  • To maintain regular dialogue and rapport with investors and to provide updated feedback about the credit appetite of the investors to support deal origination;
  • To strengthen ASFD’s distribution network by expanding our reach in the market via continuously tapping and finding new investors and acquiring market information. Investors contact details and lending appetite are regularly updated in the internal database on a timely basis;
  • To explore and discover new liquidity from both bank and non-banks;
  • To assist branches in managing their loan portfolio through effective secondary selldown;
  • To take initiative and proactive stance in the solicitation of non-risk asset and new business opportunities for the department.

Essential Functions

A sales function: This role is responsible for cultivating liquidity in the market, which is essential for maintaining Mizuho’s edge in the Asian syndicated loan market. Moreover, he/she is also tasked to support and grow our loan trading platform in Asia Pacific ex Japan.


  • We are looking for an individual who has mind-set to initiate changes and improvements for higher productivity/performance;
  • Builds an internal and external network to execute regular deals and day-to-day work;
  • Builds good working relationship with other members and stakeholders and effectively collaborates with them to achieve Team/Section goals.

Work Experience, Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree holder;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Banking,  preferably with prior sales experience;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin.
