Cash and Collateral Management Intermediate Officer
The Cash & Trade Proc Intmd Analyst is an intermediate level role responsible for the oversight and management of a small Margining Team within the APAC Margin Utility, located in Hong Kong. The primary focus of the role will be the day to day administrative support of the function coupled with leadership and supervisory responsibility within a team of administrative/support/technical employees. The position requires close interaction with Clients, Business Managers and Tech. The successful candidate will also be working with local, regional and global support functions including Product Control, Credit, Line Control, Finance, Technology, Compliance, Legal and Audit. This is in addition to supporting APAC Margin Operations Management.  

Responsibilities:
  • Team and Leadership Development 
  • Management of day to day margining processes and timely completion of daily reconciliation and reporting across a number of functions. 
  • Build strong relationships with other Key Business areas, including regular communication with NAM Margin teams. 
  • Effective upward management, capable of giving clear and concise briefings
  • Effective delegation of tasks to team members 
  • Set expectations of team and tracks delivery against plan 
  • Motivate, inspire and retain team members, provide feedback, coaching, leadership and direction 
  • Complete performance reviews on a regular basis to include goal setting, mid-year and end of year performance reviews
  • Assist in recruitment of new team members 
  • Provide training and direction to junior staff members on issues or processes where they require support and guidance
  • First line, point of escalation, capable of owing more complex client / process issues through to resolution
  • Control focus - review processes, identifying potential weaknesses, drafting corrective action plans and providing recommendations for improvement to Department Head. 
  • Demonstrate escalation to Senior Managers with an assessment of issues, root cause analysis and potential remedial actions
  • Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge to provide value-added perspectives or advice.  
  • Capable of making informed decisions in line with critical deadlines
  • Contribute to the successful migration of processes or technical advancements into area of responsibility including drafting migration plans, test scripts etc
  • Complete / track all Corporate Control deliverables to include mandatory training and mandatory leave. 
  • Proactively champion Citi's Ethical Culture and Responsible Behaviour practices. 
  • Help to create and build an environment of teamwork and encourage two-way communication across the unit. 
  • Be an ambassador for the Margin Utility team, raising the profile of the unit across the EMEA, NAM and ASPAC areas

Qualifications:
  • Understanding and experience in the Collateral Management / Margin processes and products and the associated legal documentation would be advantageous.
  • The applicant will be expected to have at least 2-5 years working experience with demonstrable supervisory skills spanning a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role. 
  • The applicant will be expected to have strong risk and control mindset
  • Customer service experience. 
  • Displays a well-developed ability to schedule work and understand relative priorities
  • Effective verbal and written skills
  • Effective communication and analytical skills
  • Effective relationship management skills
  • Expert level proficiency in Windows, MS Project, and MS Office Suite

Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
