We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Actuarial Risk IT .

Principal responsibilities

  • Acts as the IT partner for Head of Product & Actuarial and his team.
  • Acts as the IT lead for actuarial workstreams in the IFRS17 programme.
  • Responsible to work with Actuary and Transformation teams on budget and orderbook planning.
  • Accountable for the delivery of technology solution in the orderbook meeting agreed schedule, requirements, budget and quality.
  • Owns the production of the actuarial systems ensuring quality meeting service level agreement.
  • Manages the global Actuarial IT team with a cost/effectiveness optimized location strategy.
  • Sets the people strategy for the team, promotes continuous improvement and leads by example.
  • Influences and collaborates with stakeholders to drive the right outcomes balancing the needs across all involved parties


Qualifications

Requirements

  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in IT team management in a large organisation with strong track record of technology solution delivery in a global, regional and local structure.
  • Experience in managing actuarial systems in large and global insurers.
  • Knowledge on actuarial risk and the associated operational processes.
  • Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal or external stakeholders.
  • Thrive effectively under pressure with competing and changing priorities.
  • Proven and demonstrable knowledge of best practice within IT development, project management and business analysis standards, tooling and process.
  • Bring analytical rigour, structure and effective solutions to poorly defined problems applying common sense and lateral thinking.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a track record of building and motivating high performance teams
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, persuading and communication skills which are applicable through multiple channels such as written, spoken, workshops and presentations
  • Excellent team leader and player, able to lead others into action, and with ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
  • Knowledge of the Insurance business lines, programmes and external environments would be an advantage.
