IT Operations manages the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are critical for HSBC employees and customers, such as cost-efficient hardware, system software, middleware and databases, data centres, voice and data networks, ATMs, desktops and other devices. It employs around 8,500 employees globally and comprises five functions: Client Services, Enterprise Services and Architecture, Data Centre and Service Management, Relationship Management, Project Management and PMO, and Risk and Administration. Collectively, these areas define and deliver HSBC's technology strategy to support the Group's goals.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Enterprise Project Management Office .

Principal responsibilities

  • The role holder reports to the Global Head of Enterprise Project Management Office and is part of the overall Enterprise Project Management Office Leadership team. They will be responsible for a function of approximately 15-20 people in the either the Region or within a Global Transformation Centre. The role will have direct reporting of Business Partner Services leads in the region and functions, as well as a number Delivery Project Management Office
  • The role also has responsibility for managing the planning and resourcing for all Asia Pacific Regionally based Enterprise Project Management Office employers


Qualifications

Requirements

  • Strong leadership experience in managing a Project Management Office function
  • Strong structured approach to Program Management and ideally having worked within a Project Management Office capacity
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in program and project management methodologies
  • Strong analytical capability and can evidence highly effective financial planning
  • Experienced in managing geographically distributed teams
  • Experience in process driven delivery and streamlining processes and operations. Demonstrated ability in driving process improvements
  • Experienced in managing transition of services from onshore to offshore
  • Ability to create structure in a fast moving and growing environment
  • Demonstrated ability in talent development and team building
  • Ability to understand and deal with global and regional issues in a matrixed environment and be able to make balanced judgments when faced with tradeoffs
  • Excellent communication skills oral and written, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Organization skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Educated to graduate or postgraduate degree level in Accountancy, Finance or related field desirable
