We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Market Activation Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • ​Leadership accountability for all recruitment, onboarding, performance management, career development for Digital Release and Change Managers across HSBC Delivery Services
  • Accountable for supporting delivery of digital products through management of portfolio level work items
  • Management of path of customer activities, including live proving activities to ensure digital products land successfully
  • Development of the release management process across all markets ensuring robust governance and minimal disruption to services
  • Lead process review following each release to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensuring these are factored into future releases
  • Release Managers will work with Delivery Managers and Product Owners to monitor the progress of the work relative to the release cadence and dates
  • Release managers are accountable, with the Product Owners, to keep the business aware of progress and any impediment
  • Accountability for robust planning activity across the Release Management function to optimize use of resources between teams
  • System interface with HSBC Delivery Services, Transformation and the Business. With particular focus on ensuring the teams are aligned and the business is aware of progress
  • The role holder will need to work at senior level with Global Digital leads and market based Business Leads
  • Proactive management of a portfolio of Digital initiatives highlighting and taking action to mitigate risks and issues, ensuring delivery is on time and to quality standards with minimal disruption
  • Leadership accountability for the development of a team of Digital Release and Change Managers who will support release and implementation activity for all product delivery
  • Definition and implementation of people strategy for creation of professional high performing release management community including development, training and accreditation with robust approach to performance management in conjunction with peers across the function
  • Ensuring best practice is instilled in the fiber of the team, using global standards as a benchmark and focusing on continuous improvement for the team and releases
  • Work with peers across HSBC Delivery Services to provide development and enhancement opportunities
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise across all areas of responsibility
  • Develop clear governance procedures within discipline to maximize convergence and ensure any divergence is justified
  • Procedures and roles and responsibilities should be comprehensive and unambiguous, and include Service Level Agreements, individual or team ownership, resolution scenarios and escalation policy
  • Identify key risks, issues and interdependencies and provide appropriate mitigation strategies or escalation as appropriate
  • Support audit or independent programme assessments as required
  • Ensure HSBC is not put at any operational or reputational Risk

  • Graduate
  • Experience of managing a team leading business activity to support the delivery of digital change across regions or markets
  • Exceptional analytical, planning and governance skills
  • Leadership experience in customer focused organizations, in disciplines such as digital, programme or change management skills motivating and inspiring others to excel
  • Subject Matter Expertise of online and mobile channels, including technical, market place and customer considerations
  • Strong commercial focus, ability to balance risks and rewards and maximize cost effectiveness and profitability for the business
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex or technical issues
  • Pragmatic decision making skills, with the ability to make clear judgments based on data and understand the implications
  • Ability to lead and influence
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills to satisfy a wide range of internal and external customers with conflicting priorities
  • Excellent understanding of project methodology, frameworks and best practice
  • Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across all five regions North America, Latin America, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Europe
