An reputable European Corporate Bank is seeking for a Senior Credit Analyst role base in Hong Kong.

Job Purpose

  • Responsible for the credit risk assessment of wholesale clients using pro-active approach including the identification in an early stage of a) (increased) credit risks plus recommendations to reduce or mitigate credit loss, b) new credit opportunities both for existing as well as prospective clients or industries
  • Advise the relationship manager on ways to set up new or improve existing credit structures and solutions
  • Responsible for a portfolio of China Corporate Banking, Leveraged and Project Finance clients

Responsibilities

  • Constant dialogue with credit analysts, relationship managers, clients, product specialists, management, Head Office departments as well as back and mid office people in HK Branch in order to maintain and develop extensive knowledge of industries, procedures, policies and strategies
  • Write clear and concise credit applications in English i.e. being able to give clear and concise overviews of business, financial and credit structure risks as well as the mitigants. Based here on Credit Committees will come to substantiated credit decisions.
  • Draft realistic financial projections plus underlying key assumptions

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance or Business-related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of credit analysis/ risk experience in wholesale/ corporate banking; with at least 2 years experience in assessing complex structured transactions such as acquisition / leveraged finance, project finance, receivable purchase / securitisation
  • Strong knowledge of the Chinese market including business dynamics, economic and political environment and cultural aspects in order to support a solid analysis of the risks. Experience in working in mainland China corporate sector would be an advantage
  • Experience in risk analysis of large corporates, particularly operating in the food and agriculture sectors
  • Outgoing, patient, diligent
  • Good verbal communication and writing skills
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills
  • Good PC knowledge especially in Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Experience with Visio an advantage
