Vice President - Finance - Business Manager (Markets)
Job Responsibilities:

Business Management
  • Act as a trusted partner to the Markets Division to drive and execute key strategic initiatives together with Product Development teams (Equities, Structured Product, FIC, Global Commodities, Emerging Business, Post Trade Services) and Sales & Marketing teams
  • Partner with business teams to develop key performance metrics tied to the business (e.g. product P&L; revenue / volume by clients or by product; normalised ADT stripping out volatility; effectiveness of marketing spend and incentive schemes) and effectively communicate results attributed to the Division's efforts in order to provide the Business with enablers and insights to better manage resources
  • Contribute to the business decision making process together with business teams by providing value-add analysis (e.g. market share; competitive landscape; league tables); proactively analyse trends and changes and utilise qualitative and quantitative tools to synthesise data and information, drawing conclusions and making recommendations for senior management
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholders and prepare senior-level presentations as a basis for decision making
  • Assist in the development and production of management business reviews, performance updates and analysis
  • Work with business and firmwide stakeholders to identify areas that can be improved (e.g. enhance existing processes), and embrace innovation to improve efficiency, productivity and client experience
  • Provide assistance on day-to-day management of the business, driving leadership team agendas and developing executive level business review materials

Financial Analysis and Business Reporting
  • Engage with business teams and facilitate tracking of results against pre-defined KPIs (e.g. project milestones; pipeline maintenance; forecasts; client satisfaction)
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, expense management and tracking processes together with Finance
  • Responsible for the review of financial performance items, amongst others, to identify issues and support the resolution in close collaboration with the Division, Financial & Management Reporting Teams and Project Portfolio Management Team
  • Work closely with the business to ensure accurate and consistent reporting under best practices; create a monthly dashboard for stakeholders across the business

Discipline & Governance
  • Provide support and collaborate with business teams to manage business changes, ensuring proper business governance and regulatory standards are maintained
  • Provide oversight and guidance over the new project initiations process
  • Ensure the business is up-to-date on risk management issues; identify and mitigate business risks; and facilitate proper escalation to the right forums if necessary

Inter- & Intra-Division Liaison
  • Point of contact of any initiatives involving other lines of business or firmwide (e.g. workspace optimisation)
  • Work collaboratively and communicate closely with stakeholders within the Division as well as other business managers to facilitate information flow and realise cross-divisional synergies

Job Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Strong business acumen and good understanding of business needs in the context of short and long term objectives; thinks holistically and strategically about the business
  • Sound knowledge of financial markets and financial products
  • Detail-oriented, strong analytical and problem solving skills (experience in financial planning, data analysis and project management a plus)
  • Can adapt quickly to a fast-paced and dynamic environment with unforeseen, ad-hoc circumstances; works well under pressure
  • Highly-organised with strong multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated; ability to be a team player or an individual contributor
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to interact effectively with peers and senior management alike
  • Superior judgment and professionalism and upholds strong business ethics and integrity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Aptitude for technology (proficiency in Microsoft tools a must)
