In this position you will act as principal advisor for Quilter International in respect of financial services legislation & regulation to ensure accurate and effective regulatory interpretation. The role leads the Compliance Monitoring Team to ensure the development and delivery of an effective 2nd line monitoring programme in line with the Group framework.

To support the International CRO in the delivery of all 2nd line services activity to ensure the effective management of all aspects of regulatory risk.
Also to deputise for the International CRO as required and to fulfil regulatory or defined responsibility roles across International.

About the role

Some of the key aspects of this role are:

  • Manages and develops key regulatory relationships, ensures all relevant filings and notifications are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Own the provision of effective compliance policy & advisory services including any necessary remediation exercises and implementation of regulatory changes.
  • Provide the correct technical and commercial interpretation of the applicable regulatory requirements as they relate to International and its business activities. Ability to articulate both the customer and business unit impacts and proactively work with the business to understand the operational impact and ultimately deliver in partnership with the business a compliant but commercial solution to the business.
  • Monitor progress and impacts of relevant regulatory developments and engage with all relevant stakeholders to ensure regulatory and governance risks facing International are understood and managed. This then feeds into the overall strategy and business plan, ensuring that regulatory risks are adequately managed.

About you

We are looking for an individual with the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience across all Compliance related disciplines within the finance sector. 
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Compliance, Regulatory, and Legislative requirements, predominantly from an Isle of Man, UK, and EU perspective but would be beneficial if this extended to include regulatory considerations in Hong Kong, Singapore, Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey, and South Africa.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial products and industry practice.
  • Experience and proven track record in defining and delivering quality reporting.
  • Previous line management experience, preferably in a Risk or Compliance function.
  • Should hold a relevant Compliance related qualification.
