Ireland is the fastest growing major cross border fund domicile in Europe. It is a centre of excellence for UCITS products and almost 80% of Irish domiciled funds are UCITS. Adding to that, the CP86 deadline is fast approaching.
My client, a leading global investment manager, are looking to bring on board a Head of Compliance (PCF15) who will cover all regulated activities of the Company, will be based in Ireland and will have responsibility for regulatory oversight of both the Irish office and the Company's branch offices in Europe (as applicable).
The Head of Compliance will incorporate responsibility for anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing and be responsible for the formation, implementation and awareness of regulatory policies and procedures, execution of compliance monitoring activities, reporting on regulatory matters and maintaining awareness of regulatory developments, assessing the impact of such developments and working alongside others to implement necessary changes to ensure continued compliance.
The role holder will be the primary contact point for communications with the Central Bank of Ireland.
What they are looking for?
*Significant prior experience in the senior leadership role in Compliance within the Investment Management industry.
*Excellent experience of working in regulations/guidance issued by the Central Bank of Ireland but also other independent EU authorities (i.e. ESMA). In particular, knowledge of UCITS / AIFMD / MiFID II / EMIR
*Experience of dealing with the Central Bank of Ireland in matters such as day to day communications but also in connection with Thematic Reviews, PRISM visits/interviews etc.
*A working knowledge of the CBI's Strategic Plan and an understanding of the CBI's focus of regulatory interaction with peer group regulated firms
*A professional qualification could include the ACOI's Professional Diploma in Compliance (LCOI) or have gone on to become a fellow of the ACOI (FCOI)
