Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

You will be joining an outstanding team working on high profile programs. As Project Director, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of large programs in a matrix environment, e.g. Enterprise Client Relationship Management (ECRM). You will have the opportunity to see our Bank from the perspective of different Business Units and you will drive positive change by articulating clear deliverables and driving successful implementations.

How You'll Succeed
  • Project Management Expertise - Must have a minimum of 10 years of project delivery experience with at least 5-years as a Program Manager or Project Director, leading projects $10MM+. Must have knowledge of and experience with tools and techniques for planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling projects. Deep understanding and experience managing Project Financials required, including estimating, tracking and managing variances. Deep understanding and experience creating and managing Project Schedules required, including managing issues and risks. Preference will be given to candidates with delivery experience in both IT and Business projects/programs.
  • Stakeholder Management - Must have previous experience establishing and maintaining stakeholder and sponsor relationships. Contact with, and demonstrated ability to influence Senior Executives and management within CIBC and/or very senior or high profile representatives outside CIBC.
  • People Change Management - Identify all in-scope Business Units and understand the change requirements. Leverage our People Change Management best practices in an efficient manner to ensure Business adoption for critical projects. Key focus areas will include Leadership adoption and employee engagement, supported through a robust communication and training plan.
  • Creative Problem Solving - Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, understand business context quickly and connect the dots. Must be comfortable operating at a strategic level and also driving into detail as needed, and back. Continuous improvement is part of your DNA.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Business, Arts, Science, Engineering, and/or a related field of study. It's an asset if you have your PMP Designation.
  • You can demonstrate experience in 10 years of project delivery experience with at least 5-years as a Program Manager or Project Director, leading projects $10MM+ and change management in a fast-paced environment; Project Management methodology, principles, and tools. It's an asset if you have experience with Agile methodologies, Program/Portfolio Management, Business Case creation, HP Planview and Project Reporting Facility. It's an asset if you have experience with Change Management Methodology and tools.
