As part of the creation of an AIFM (Alternative Investment Fund Manager) Pictet Alternative Advisors SA (PAA) in Luxembourg, you will ensure that the risk management is effective, documented and meets the legal and regulatory provisions applicable to investment funds (AIFs) and to the AIFM in Luxembourg, with a strong focus on private equity and real estate asset classes (funds sector, co-investment and direct opportunities).

Mission

As part of the creation of an AIFM (Alternative Investment Fund Manager) Pictet Alternative Advisors SA (PAA) in Luxembourg, you will ensure that the risk management is effective, documented and meets the legal and regulatory provisions applicable to investment funds (AIFs) and to the AIFM in Luxembourg, with a strong focus on private equity and real estate asset classes (funds sector, co-investment and direct opportunities).

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the risk management framework complies with the applicable legal and regulatory framework, monitoring developments in that framework and informing the relevant people of these developments.
  • Monitoring the portfolio risk management and investment controlling teams and ensuring that they identify, analyse and manage the risks connected with investment fund asset management activities as defined in the risk management policy of the AIFM.
  • Contributing, where necessary and in coordination with the relevant teams (internally and/or with any third party involved), to ensuring that the fund managers are supervised in an appropriate and efficient manner.
  • Issuing recommendations to the senior management and relevant bodies.
  • Working on all new business projects as they relate to risk management.
  • Working in conjunction with the portfolio management and compliance teams of the AIFM for the onboarding of new funds and co-investments.
  • Supervising relevant tasks performed by third parties with respect to each investment.
  • Reporting and escalating to the relevant bodies.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Economics (or qualification deemed equivalent) from a top-tier university; a postgraduate-type qualification such as CFA, CAIA or FRM would be an asset.
  • More than 10 years of relevant work experience in the financial sector, including more than 5 years in the risk management team of an AIFM or private equity/real estate firm in Luxembourg.
  • In-depth knowledge of CSSF rules and experience in AIFMD is required.
  • Industry knowledge in private assets required.
  • Previous conducting officer experience would be a plus.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Fluent in English and French.
