For our securities services activities in Luxembourg, we are currently looking to recruit a:

Supervisor, Private Equity Desk
Permanent contract

Role and Responsibilities:

You will be part of the multinational Fund Administration department of HSBC Bank plc, Luxembourg Branch and work for a team solely dedicated to Private Equity (“PE”).

You will be responsible for the oversight of the production cycle and the validation of monthly and quarterly PE valuations.

You will also be involved in the capital activity of the different PE structures (Capital calls, Distributions and Closings) and ensure the proper administration of the related Transfer Agency processes, including Dealing and Client Servicing.

In addition, the team is responsible to prepare annual and semi-annual financial statements for the respective structures and provides support to the clients and to the auditors in all matters related to the audit.

Along with your team colleagues, you will be a primary point of contact for clients with regards to all Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting related queries and ensure the highest level of service is provided to our clients.

As part of your role, you will continuously strive to enforce and enhance our control environment with the aim of mitigating and controlling our risks.
You will ensure the identification and prompt reporting of potential gaps and risks that may affect the Group, the clients and the Bank.

In this role, you will:

• Be responsible for the oversight of the production, accuracy and timeliness of net asset value calculations and release of Private Equity Funds.
• Ensure proper administration of the Capital Call and Distribution processes related to Private Equity Funds.
• Ensure integrity, accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
• Provide support and guidance to offshore teams in order for the service delivery to be met.
• Review and completion of financial statements of our clients and ensure accuracy of all accounts, notes, standards and latest reporting requirements.
• Ensure financial statements are prepared within the required standards and meet the latest reporting requirements.
• Plan and manage the audits and ensure good relationships are maintained with our primary contacts. Liaise with internal and external parties in order to arrange for deliveries within deadlines.
• Ensure audit procedures and controls are followed.

Professional skills and experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional qualification, preferably in Audit, Accounting or Finance.
• Previous experience of 4 years with a Big 4 company, in the PE Fund Industry or in Financial Reporting.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, would be a significant advantage.
• Sound accounting process understanding.
• Sound knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the Luxembourg Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (Lux GAAP), as they pertain to investment funds. Knowledge of any other GAAP would be an advantage.
• Ability to meet targets and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and deliver work with the required quality.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Very good command of Excel, Word, Access and affinity with fund industry software packages. Knowledge of Vitech V3 (Equitrak) would be an advantage.
• Perfect command of German and English, both in spoken and written, together with excellent communication skills are required for the role.
