Infrastructure Specialist
Job Description
  • Provide professional support on day-to-day operations and maintain high availability and robust resilience of our AS/400 infrastructural platform.
  • Play the role of AS/400 SME to engage and contribute on various project activities which aims to provide better services to our users and clients.
Project Management Support (Internal/External)
    • Provide scoping support for customer requests
    • Perform service request management (through SILVA system) for the team
    • Provide support on project deployment
    • Provide support on security related queries
  • Follow up on open incidents and problems until resolution
  • Monitor the replication tool (Metro-Mirror, MIMIX) in term of performance and availability
  • Perform AS/400 backup monitoring and related troubleshooting
  • Perform OS and software tool upgrades/patching to ensure quality of service
  • Execute standard procedures in support of the business
  • Support infrastructural decommission planning and review
  • Perform resource alignment with Operations team
  • Provide support on any change request management matters for AS/400
  • Coordinate with Operations team for request follow-ups, tasks confirmation and alike
  • 5+ years of solid experience on IBM iSeries operating commands that include backup and restore, operations and trouble shooting
  • Any Degree/Diploma (from reputed institution)
  • Good command in written and spoken English
  • Knowledgeable on AFP (Advanced Function Printers) and IPDS printing functions
  • Assist on configuration and troubleshooting virtual access issues
  • Be experienced on data processing equipment and peripheral devices such as printers, copiers and handheld device
  • Be able to work flexible hours as required by assigned projects and on-call support
  • Maintain cooperative working relationship and promoting teamwork
  • Perform related duties as assigned
Technical Skills and Capabilities
  • Familiarity with ITIL process
  • Knowledge of IBM iSeries Hardware and OS including High Availability, Metro Mirror, and MIMIX basic administration
  • Knowledge of AS400 networked systems, access and procedures
  • Knowledge of Middleware for iSeries including MQ, UDM, file transfer
  • Knowledgeable in Performance analysis with iNavigator and iDoctor
  • Knowledge of computer technology and equipment including PC/Laptop, printers, network and wireless devices
