Technical Consultant (Telco)

The Technical Consultant is a key person to transform Telco client requirements into a working and sustainable solution. This includes new prospects, new requests from existing customers, technical support and delivery, and active participation and ownership in the delivery phase of complex projects.

Summary of Job Impact & Scope:

General

  • Be responsible for understanding the project ' s scope and ensuring that project work undertaken does not exceed that scope
  • Manage the technical and functional components of projects and act as the end to end solution owner and technical lead
  • Ensure all work is of a high quality and professionally presented
  • Represent Experian as an honest, knowledgeable and conscientious ambassador of the company

Application / Software Development & Maintenance

  • U nderstand the potential and the limitations of information technology and Experian products
  • Where required act as liaisons between Experian and their clients and associated project teams (including external vendors)
  • Where required develop cost analysis, design considerations, and implementation time-lines.
  • Where required conduct feasibility studies of a computer system or component
  • Provide guidance on all technical aspects unit and system testing
  • Must be able to work with various programming languages, operating systems, and computer hardware platforms

Change Management & Compliance

  • Ensure maintenance and development of the delivery team ' s collateral e.g. source code, development environments, software, documentation, tools
  • Comply with published standards for coding, testing and documentation and other policies and procedures as laid down under the Delivery Framework

Sales Process / Product Knowledge
  • Pre-sales software demonstrations and presentations to prospective and existing clients
  • Completion of assigned pre-sales RFP questionnaire components relating to technical and functional implementation of Experian solution


Requirements:
  • Strong background and a minimum 6+ years ' experience in technology domain
  • 4 years of experience in Telco, as an architect/consultant
  • Consultative experience and attitude; experience in developing technical solutions
  • Understanding of appropriate technology components
  • Strong communication skills - both written, oral and presentation in English
  • Experience and ability to lead a project involving other technological competencies
  • Team worker, performance driven individual
  • Used to work under tight time pressure, great sense of priority management
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Studious problem analysis skills
  • A broad knowledge and understanding of relevant domains and technologies supporting the solutions including but not limited to: BSS (CRM, Billing and Charging, Middlewares etc), SOA Architecture , Java / Groovy / ApacheHadoop / Spark, Security and encryption, SQL Databases, WebServices / REST / SOAP, XML and related technologies (XSD, XSL ... ), Windows / Unix / Linux, UI Development,.NET / IIS a plus
