Accounting Control team is responsible for the control and monitoring of our client’s portfolio data on the Accounting Book of Record (ABOR). The teams work closely with investment teams and other operational areas to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our accounting records. We are responsible for production of periodic and adhoc operational client reports such as client valuations, as well as resolving client queries raised via Distribution teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate client accounting records
  • Ensure timely production of valuation reports in accordance with agreed format, data content and clients’ deadline
  • NAV signoff against external fund accountant appointed by the client
  • Proactive investigation and follow up of queries arising from front office, clients, custodians and administrators
  • Ensure timely resolution of production issues in accordance with deadlines
  • Prioritise and manage workloads according to risk or deadlines
  • Ensure business controls are implemented and adhered to, and identify opportunities for improvements
  • Oversee account transitions to ensure accurate accounting records for new/lost clients and any new/changing reporting requirements are addressed
  • Assist with other reporting such as management reporting and regulatory reporting
  • Assist management through implementing changes to work practices and procedures, using initiative to develop effective solutions to improve accuracy and reduce operational risk
  • Ensure BAU SLA standards and procedures are adhered to

 

The knowledge, experience and qualifications required

  • 3 years of relevant working experience in Accounting and Valuation role
  • Good knowledge of financial products such as Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate under pressure and deliver to demanding deadlines
  • Proficient in basic software including MS Excel, Power BI
  • Experience working within a middle/back office environment in an asset management firm
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Proactive in problem-solving with good attention to detail
