Big Data Business Analyst - Regulatory Reporting, Associate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detailed data analysis involving large amounts of data, with keen attention to detail and accuracy - data relating to business requirements, to support production issues and researching specific questions from internal users and stakeholders.
  • Understand and summarize client requirements, translating into JIRA user stories and acceptance criteria that fulfill end user business needs.
  • Partner with business users and the technology team at all levels.
  • Work closely with business partners to identify process improvements and leverage technology to automate and streamline existing solutions.
  • Proactively manage scope creep and support a streamlined demand management process.
  • Plan and co-ordinate all the testing phases, including IST and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Develop and execute thorough test scripts.
  • Lead the team in Agile best practices.
  • Co-ordinate software release activities.
  • The ability to multi-task, in a fast paced environment.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a functional business analyst role with core experience in Compliance, Finance or Risk Regulatory Reporting for Wholesale Banking
  • 3+ years of experience with Equity and Equity Derivative products
  • 3+ years of experience with Investment Banking and Asset Management businesses
  • Experience with Disclosure of Interest reporting, Transaction reporting, Takeover Panel reporting or other regulatory reporting is highly beneficial
  • Experience in all phases of systems development and project life cycle with strong capabilities in defining, creating and managing high quality business requirements
  • Experience in creating test plans, project plans and other SDLC/PLC deliverables
  • Demonstrable problem solving skills and the ability to develop solutions to complex analytical / data driven problems
  • Ability to facilitate meetings among stakeholders with diverse and sometimes conflicting points of view, including strong negotiation skills and developing strong client relationships
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with colleagues at various levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage/organize multiple priorities and projects coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing regulatory environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, financial or analytical field with preferred focus on Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Scrum Master experience, with proven track record in leading various Agile ceremonies, is preferred
  • Experience querying large relational databases (Oracle) is required. Experience querying data on Hadoop ecosystem (leveraging Hive, Impala and Spark) is preferred
  • MBA with finance background is preferred
