Position Overview

Summary of the Division & Position Overview:

Client Onboarding is a Global Operations division responsible for performing KYC on clients of Deutsche Bank Group and Affiliates across Corporate Investment Banking. The 1 LoD "Know Your Client (KYC) Quality Assurance (QA) function provides assurance to stakeholders as to whether DB's KYC files reviewed meet the standards defined in the KYC Policy - DB Group and local requirements (where applicable) through the assessment of KYC file information, including ascribed Client Risk Ratings and Due Diligence activities undertaken by the Business to manage Financial Crime Risks presented by the Client.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management - APAC QA Team management. Including recruitment, training, approving competency, on going development part of the Total Performance Management process. Delivery on BOW and ensuring quality and day-to-day management of capacity.
  • Responsible for delivery of the monthly target samples, QA initiatives, ad-hoc projects on time.
  • Will be responsible for ensuring frequent meetings are held with Regional Leads globally to discuss areas of consistency and implement standardisation across QA globally.
  • Escalate when necessary to senior management.
  • Articulate QA's observations to stakeholders and able to hold a validation discussion with senior stakeholders.
  • Apply the QA methodology in order to deliver an objective review on client files. Perform accurate and consistent QA checks on KYC files across multiple KYC Events, Business Lines and client risk levels
  • Ensure that testing activities are being conducted in accordance to the testing strategy and plan. Ensure adherence to testing best practices and DB testing standards
  • Report the outcomes of these reviews to the Local and Regional QA Management.
  • Ensure that risks and issues are recorded and escalated as appropriate
  • Implementation of a monthly MI reporting in order to evaluate the operational production of the QA department, reflecting the number of files reviewed and the number of files failed on a year-to-date basis
  • Operate as a QA specialist for the evolving QA methodology and framework implementing required change in partnership with the Global RCP KYC QA Team
  • Partner with the Client Onboarding teams to improve KYC standards. Support and contribute towards a continuous improvement program of work borne out of QA testing results, asses root causes and thematic issues proposing steps to be taken to eliminate, evidencing improvements
  • Sustain to a culture of teamwork and collective achievement of departmental goals and objectives across RCP KYC QA and Client Onboarding teams


Your Skills:
  • Strong people and leadership skills
  • Profound knowledge of Know your Customer (KYC) matters and topics with 10+ years KYC operations experience
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to think laterally around issues, proposing solutions where required
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work to high standards and under strong time constraints
  • Excellent personal organisation and prioritization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
  • The ability to utilize your own area of expertise and knowledge to contribute to significant improvements in operational processes and policies. Combine subject matter expertise and able to transfer knowledge to colleagues
