Our client is a fast growing renewable energy trading co . The co focuses on arbitraging cargoes, collection of renewable wastes & residues, logistics, blending, distribution, physical trading and hedging. The office is based in Bukit Merah.
JOB DESCRIPTION – FINANCE MANAGER
Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for preparing and overseeing the full spectrum of financial closing and reporting requirements and works closely with outsourced accounting service provider in managing the month end close process. This includes companies in the group located in Malaysia.
The Finance Manager also works with the operations team to ensure gross margin is captured accurately and timely settlement of payments.
TYPICAL TASKS
- Build relationships and manage service levels with outsourced accounting service provider supporting the preparation of financial statements
- Provide information to outsourced accounting service provider required for a timely close
- Review for completeness of transactions to ensure they are appropriately recorded in an effective manner
- Reconciliation of trading profit and loss with financial accounting records
- Manage cash flow for the various companies and work closely with bankers, including preparation of payments to suppliers
- Responsible for payroll and claims disbursements
- Liaise with tax agents for filing of corporate tax
- Coordinate and manage the audit process with external auditors
- Liaise and communicate with company secretary when necessary
- Ad hoc duties as requested by CEO
QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA/CA qualified with min 8 to 15 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Has exposure to an oil (or commodity trading) environment
- Understand inventory matters and strong on cashflow management
- Has a stable cv.
- Very hands-on and able to work independently
- Quick thinking and a high affinity for problems solving and solutions skills
- Flexible and quick to adapt to a dynamic trading environment
- Has initiative
- Must be able to work independently in a new and fast growing company
- Open to the Bukit Merah Central location of the role (employees work 100% from office).
- Able to operate with a high degree of autonomy, organise and prioritise workload
- Highly collaborative with excellent communication skills
- Well organized with attention to details
