As an experienced Infrastructure Support professional, you'll be making decisions of a global and strategic nature that impact our customers, clients, and businesses around the globe. Your expertise in analyzing complex systems, anticipating problems, and finding ways to mitigate risk, will be key in leading a high performing team to successfully provide first-class infrastructure service to our customers, clients, and businesses around the globe each and every day. By incorporating your knowledge of UNIX platform and infrastructure automation, you will affect change and lead development of innovative improvements and world-class practices. Your team will be responsible for driving operational stability and reliability in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) operating model, and they'll look to you to provide the technical leadership to move them forward. And while you will be part of a tight-knit team that shares your passion for technology, you'll also gain access the best minds in the business-both as part of the JPMorgan Chase & Co. global technology community, and through our partnerships with some of the most important tech firms in the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary customer interface for day to day issues and queries
  • Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members
  • Develop and support routine operational activities with automation
  • Lead root cause analysis meetings as part of process improvement
  • Work closely with peer teams to deliver high availability and optimum performance for customers


This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
· BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Able to articulate technical and non-technical information
· Self-motivated team player, with strong organizational and time management skills
· Discernible experience at structuring and delivering small projects to provide process excellence
· Previous experience as Senior System Administrator, Software Engineer or operational/product support engineer in a dynamic 24X7 environment
· 10+ years of experience in large-scale, dynamic, high-availability production environments
5-10 years of experience in Red Hat Enterprise 4.x, 5.x 6.x, 7x
· 5 years of experience in Sun Solaris 8, 9, 10
· Advanced Knowledge of UNIX core peripheral services such as NIS, NFS, automount, DNS, DHCP, Samba, SendMail, Apache, NTP, sudo, Jumpstart/Kickstart, LDAP, SSH, and KEON
· Knowledge of security best practices for multi-tiered operating systems
· Experience with IBM,HP,DELL,SUN,Cisco UCS and Rack server
· Experience in Low latency performance tuning and good understanding of kernel tuning
· Experience with on-premises/datacenter and cloud service deployed applications, and multi-tiered web application architecture
· Experience in supporting the infrastructure for application, database (Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, Postgres, Vertica) and web servers (Apache)
· Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skill on VERITAS product like VCS & VxVM
· Advanced knowledge of virtualized platforms VMWare ESX
· Advanced knowledge of Fiber Attached Storage, Multipathing, Linux LVM. Including, setup, maintenance and troubleshooting
· Exposure to enterprise storage SAN (Storage Area Network) architectures (EMC, Hitachi, etc...)
· Experience with backup server/client configurations and patch updates & rebuilds concepts
· Exposure to industry recognized tools including NetBackup, Tivoli / Net-SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM)
· Experience with network products and protocols including TCP/IP, Firewalls, Load Balancers,DNS and core infrastructure services:LDAP,Active Directory,Centrify
· Experience in networking concepts & technologies (Solarflare, Mellanox a plus)
· Experience with network topology - TCP/IP Network issues
· Experience with troubleshooting network routing issues
· Proficient with Unix/Linux command line interface
· Proficient in Python or Perl
