The role is for an experienced a Senior Technical Support engineer for the Singapore office .The individual chosen will be a member of a team that provides primary support for the division's desktop technology needs. Responsibilities include daily support, learning business unit specific applications, management of new software deployment and liaising between the business unit and IT colleagues to establish or communicate the needs of the business unit. The individual should be able to act as an escalation point for junior members of the team specially the consultant resources and manage IT projects and deployments of all sizes.

This Senior Engineer will report to the local Service Manager.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Troubleshooting support for hardware, Windows Operating System, generic applications and BU applications
Act as an escalation point for junior members of the team, especially the consultants.
Call monitoring via Service now and work on Escalation/ownership of persistent technical issue.
Serve as liaison to other groups within IT through established procedures.
Work very closely with the EUS colleagues in other branches.
Maintenance of desktop environmental health and consider automation wherever possible.
Coordinate testing of new application or upgrades.
Maintain / Update support documentation and team websites.
Maintenance of hardware inventory and supplies.
Software installations and upgrades.
Take initiative to stay current on technology and participate in training programs.


Skills Required:

Graduate with Preference to BE (Bachelor of Engineering) in Electronics or Computers.
Strong English skills are necessary.
Highly motivated, analytical thinking individual.
Strong troubleshooting and technical skills in Windows XP and Solaris Knowledge of the firm?s IT infrastructure and critical dependencies
Sound knowledge of the devices that form part of Technology Infrastructure
Problem solving skills with an interest in gaining business knowledge
Ability to manage small IT projects and deployments projects.
Strong client and service focus.
Ability to operate as a team member as well as independently.

Business acumen:
Familiarity with financial services organization - relative importance of technology to the business
Knowledge with market data infrastructure and applications is an advantage
Mature and self-motivated, can work alone with minimal dependence on management
Strong listening and presentation skills
Strong service focus and inter-personal skills for user support
