Vice President - DSM Efficiency and Business management
The role will offer subject matter expertise in Expense management across partners (internal and external) every day with our APAC & EMEA Regional Businesses (Cards, Loans and Retail Banking). The incumbent will work closely with the country Digital Sales and Marketing Team, providing those internal customers with the data, reporting and insights needed to improve overall marketing expense performance in the region. He/ She will partner with country teams to achieve and track monthly expense goals, providing a broad spectrum of insights on key drivers, initiatives to optimise ranging from brief/ campaign reviews, recommending a different agency mix or driving synergies in campaign execution. They will also be responsible for sales planning and optimization exercises. They will be responsible for having a dedicated focus around efficiency/ account profitability we are proposing the replacement with detailed expertise on Business management, P&L for cards, retail, study account behavior, drive better lead to booking ratio, through digital salvaging and engagement with internal credit entitities.

The incumbent should also be able to lead in recommendations to better track marketing expenses through various internal systems and projections. The role requires an individual with excellent analytical and hands-on financial systems and accounting abilities, combined with strong presentation and communication skills. Also, expected to partner with internal business and control teams on audit initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • The incumbent will have four primary responsibilities:(1) Streamline marketing expenses efficiently across product lines
    (2) Recommend ways to improve efficiencies through reviewing various marketing campaign briefs, driving consistency across the region
    (3) Work with all our agency partners, Internal Citi Procurement and Supply Chain teams to provide independent oversight on efficiencies and expense usage.
    (4) Drive internal management control, process documentation, approval automation and liaison on internal audit requirements for the Digital sales and marketing team
  • Develop new and innovative analyses based on expense trends, industry and historic data for better projecting expense usage and optimisation opportunities
  • Understand key business expense and revenue drivers across Marketing deliverables to better define Sales and marketing KPIs for Cards, Loans and Retail that are aligned with the Citi's overall strategic direction
  • Track expenses against plan, business aspirations, and P&L
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally - especially Marketing teams in country, Decision Management and Finance teams
  • Partner with key stakeholders across procurement and agencies to optimise agency and campaign brief requests based on highest potential value added, and proactively drive initiatives from there
  • Create visualizations that allow the Digital Sales and Marketing Teams (both regional and in country) to easily see important trends in our expense KPIs, spot anomalies and/or opportunities
  • Respond to ad hoc analytical questions from key partners, especially for readouts on key tests and/or recent changes that could heavily impact company expenses
  • Partner with the Finance and Business Transformation teams to ensure continuous improvement in data collection and underlying data systems to adequately support advancements in reporting and insights
  • Participate in and at times help Sales and marketing leads in the daily, weekly and monthly meetings to ensure insight-based decision making
Knowledge/Experience/Technical skills:
  • 12+ years of experience
  • Develop new and innovative analyses based on expense trends, industry and historic data for better projecting expense usage and optimisation opportunities

  • Strong numerical, analytical, problem-solving and technical skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Project management skills
  • Highly competent with Excel and PowerPoint
  • BSc degree in Engineering, Business or relevant field
  • Disciplined and structured thinking
  • A quick thinker who can work independently and efficiently on tight deadlines, while having an eye for detail
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment
