Overview of Division/Department

Our Global Transaction Banking Department (GTBD) is responsible for promoting global transaction business by providing cash & trade solutions to customers in Asia Pacific and Oceania region including Japan. The division undertakes promotion activities such as business planning, marketing, sales, development and training in the region mainly to Japanese & non-Japanese customers, branch staff, government agencies, banks and IT vendors.

Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the RM on account planning, wallet sizing, including assisting with setting and implementing new strategies and actively pursue opportunities of Trade growth with the customer
  • Proactively identify Trade related opportunities typical of clients in a particular industry / segment and strategize with the RMs as regards taking forward these opportunities
  • Interact closely with customer on their needs, adopt a consultative approach with them and help to identify opportunities for the bank
  • Negotiate Trade documentation and Agreements with clients to achieve a positive outcome
  • Design tailor made marketing materials and lead marketing initiatives
  • Gather market intelligence and update stakeholders on changes in market trends within Trade space and engage with Product team to build solutions abreast with the new trends
  • Join sales for client pitches.
  • Support in Domestic and Regional RFPs
  • Secondary Responsibilities
  • Offer regional support to countries on Trade Product Development; Trade services and Trade Finance related matters
  • Support Trade related training requirements by conducting Training programs.
  • Onboarding on FINTECH providers by working on legal and compliance clearances
  • Launch new Trade Products in the region by coordinating with various stakeholders
  • Keep the ‘Product Risk', IOP's and other product documents updated
  • Hand hold the client by providing requisite training during implementation of pilot transaction
  • Ensure audit and compliance matters relating to trade matters are conformed.
  • Keep the stakeholder informed of any changes to the Head office procedures, new trade product launches etc.
  • Be a liaison between head office and various branches and ensure smooth flow of information both ways.

  • Job Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, someone who can navigate across various stakeholders of different levels and meet his/her responsibilities
  • Minimum of 10years of trade experience
  • Should have worked in Structuring SCF, IDF, Prepayment finance, Borrowing base and Credit Risk Insured.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and presentation skills
  • Track record of having worked with counterparts in other geographies
  • Proven track record of structuring complex trade solutions
  • Ability to understand and manage risk related to Trade transactions through documentation or other mitigating factors
  • Should be well connected in the market with wide network of contacts within the Corporate and FI realms.
  • Should be familiar with emerging trends in the digital Trade space
  • Good grasp of guidelines related to Trade services and Trade Finance (Uniform codes and ICC guidelines)
  • Good understanding of Trade risks related to Trade services and Trade Finance products and covering those risks through documentation and other mitigating factors
  • Working level understanding of regulatory policies and procedures and keen interest to gain thorough knowledge if that is required for supporting client requirements
  • Should be familiar with emerging trends in the digital Trade space
  • Proven track record of onboarding of FINTECH partners for the bank
