Application Support Engineer
Why is our Application Support team the next step for you? This role is part of an application support team supporting our Alternative Payments platform. The team operates according to the defined and deployed global operating model, maximising consistency across the wider global group. You'll work alongside the Infrastructure and Development teams to coordinate cross-department change, ensuring optimum service availability whilst maximising the throughput of required change.
How will you contribute on a day-to-day basis? In this role, you'll be troubleshooting and investigating production system problems of a 24-7 service where stability, reputation management and security are critical to the business' ongoing success. You'll coordinate and implement essential production maintenance tasks, gather statistics following production events, and do regular reviews of the incident management queues. You'll define, develop and maintain documentation knowledgebase, proactively identify improvements and enhancements to working practices, assist with audit data gathering and implement automation of manual tasks wherever possible.
What will make you the right fit for the team? You'll have experience with relational databases including experience of database design - preferably MS SQL. We are looking for experience with Windows Server platform operating systems - preferably Win Server 2008R2, Microsoft IIS - preferably IIS7, knowledge of .NET applications and an understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle. You'll have experience with data gathering and analysis using Microsoft SQL Server databases and Splunk, an understanding of Client/Server topology and a track record in delivering work to schedule and specification. A 'can do' attitude and good problem solving skills are also key to the success in this role. How is Worldpay changing the world?
