Business Analyst with strong buy-side client on-boarding experience to assist to assist in the design of the business architecture for a new enterprise wide client on-boarding value stream.

Schroders Business Consultancy is an internal management consultancy function providing business consultancy services to the Schroders Group.  The function offers services in areas such as strategy, M&A integration, business architecture and lean process engineering, target operating models, operational excellence and change management. 


 


Overview of the role


 


This function is leading the design of the business architecture for a new enterprise wide Client On-boarding value stream, focussing on the analysis and design of key operating model features such as key capabilities, future state process, data and solution architecture, roles and responsibilities, organisation structure, global ways of working and interactions. 


 


The objective is to define the future state operating model for the value stream and a roadmap of business and technology change to take us there.


 


The team is looking to increase its capacity, skillset and experience in this area and gain additional support to drive the shaping, design and delivery of this initiative.


 


The Epic Business Analyst will support the Business Architect in the analysis and design required to develop both the target operating model and the implementation roadmap. The Epic analyst will then work with the Epic Owner to take the initiative into the implementation phase, defining the Epics which they will then carve into the necessary Features and Stories for delivery by the agile delivery teams. 


 


Key Responsibilities



• Perform analysis and design of key features of the solution e.g. client obligation management, client data insights
• Perform analysis and design of aspects of the operating model e.g. org design, interactions, data requirements
• Contribute to high level analysis of proposed epics to identify scope, size and value of Epics
• Contribute to supporting Epic sponsor and Epic Owner in preparing the business case
• Work with Product Owners to break Epics down into Features
• Contribute to maintaining relationships with vendors and other parties and ensuring alignment with GT agile teams where necessary
• Support for both technology and non-technology change (e.g. process, vendor engagement, procurement)
• Engaging and building positive relationships with the stakeholders within the organisation
• Influencing the approach and agenda for the Client on boarding initiative through best practice input, subject-matter expertise and experience and the injection of innovative ideas and ways of thinking
• Challenging conventional wisdom and freely expressing their own opinion
• Understanding the needs of our clients and the business and tailoring the approach accordingly
• Operating as a positive role model for the rest of the team through their attitude and contribution
• Working seamlessly with both internal and external consultants involved in the programme

Essential Skills


 


• Self starter with ability to prioritise and manage own activities in the best interests of the organisation
• Collaborative team player who will want to succeed as part of a high performing team
• Knowledge and experience of delivering both technology and business change using Agile methodologies, preferably SAFe
• Strong communication skills, experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders
• Excellent understanding of the Asset Management business
• Experience of working with global colleagues and stakeholders and sensitivity to cultural differences, time zones etc.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
• Educated to a minimum of first degree level
• Understanding of consultancy skills and best practice, gained through experience of working in, or interacting closely with, a consultancy environment, including: experience of using, developing and adapting key tools, techniques and types of work a consultancy would undertake, experience of stakeholder management in a consultancy context
• An understanding of change management disciplines, processes and tools, including: experience of each of the key stages of change delivery,  planning and progress tracking mechanisms, effective means of monitoring and managing issues, risks and dependencies, strong reporting skills, managing stakeholders
• An understanding and experience of implementing continuous improvement at various levels of an organisation




Overview of the Domain Knowledge required


 
• Investment management experience gained primarily in Buy Side organisations, in one or more of the following areas: Client On-boarding, Front Office processes as they apply to Equity, Fixed Income and Multi Asset business domains, Middle and Back Office processes as they apply to Equity, Fixed Income and Multi Asset business domains, Distribution, marketing, web, collaboration and CRM, Corporate functions required to support the running of an Asset Management organisation: Risk, Finance, Procurement, HR, Legal and Compliance


• Certified Safe Agilist (SA)
• Investment Management Certificate (IMC)
• CFA, CIMA or other professional qualification
• Relevant Change Management qualification


 


Overview of the Relationship Management experience required


 


• Able to build a positive profile across the organisation
• Able to build strong relationships across the organisation from a position of trust
• Some evidence of: Creating a working relationship within business domains and establishing a role as a trusted advisor
